Mr. Athanasios Petropoulos, CEO is responsible for the overall development of EBB, supervising Bank’s business units: Retail , Corporate, Treasury (Private Banking), as well as Operations, Internal Audit, Risk, Legal, Treasury, Human Resources, Compliance Sector, CEO Office Department and the activity of the control units.
Mr. Petropoulos began his career in banking in 1991 in ABN AMRO holding different posts in the Shipping Division and Risk Division. From 1995 till 1999, he was Assistant Manager, Corporate and Institutional Banking Division at National Westminster Bank PLC, Athens. In 1999 he joined EFG EUROBANK ERGASIAS S.A., Athens and in 2002 became Executive Director and Member of the MB of Bulgarian Post Bank (EFG Group), in Sofia. In the period 2005-2006 worked as Executive Advisor to Alpha Bank SA and in 2006-2007 became Executive Director Wholesale in Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD. Since December 2007, he joined Emporiki Bank Greece and became Chairman of the MB and Chief Executive Director of Emporiki Bank – Bulgaria EAD.
Mr. Petropoulos completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Patras, and holds Masters Degrees in Industrial Management by University of Birmingham and in Business Management by University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
Mr. Galabin Galabov, joined the Bank as Chief Operating Officer in June 2008, responsible for the following units: Finance & Accounting, Operations, Administration& Logistics and Bad Loans. This includes supervising and coordinating policy development, operational activities, etc. From August 2008 he was also supervising the Retail Banking Business till April 2009 when was reappointed as Executive Director, Retail Business Line. This includes development, organizing and managing the bank’s activity in relation to the sale of products and services to individual customers and small business clients, as well as structuring the strategic development of the Bank’s office network and other distribution channels.
Mr. Galabov started his career in Bank for Economic Projects - Mineral Bank in 1992 as credit expert. From 1994 till 2001 he gained experience in marketing, FX operations and retail banking in different banking institutions. In 2003 he joined Unicredit Bulbank first as Head of Planning and Controlling and in 2005 he was promoted to Head of Operative Marketing, Retail Banking Division. From 2006 he became a work stream leader for two work streams during the integration process of Bulbank – HVB Bank Biochim and Hebros Bank. From July 2007 till June 2008 he was Chief Operating Officer and Member of the MB of KD LIFE AD– Bulgaria, Member of KD GROUP. In June 2008, he became Chief Operating Officer and Member of the MB of Emporiki Bank – Bulgaria EAD.
Mr. Galabov graduated the full-time Masters programs in Business Administration of Henry B. Tippie Scholl of Management (2001 – 2003), The University of Iowa and Economics and Management of Industry by UNIVERSITY FOR NATIONAL AND WORLD ECONOMY, Sofia (1987 – 1991).
Mr. Ioannis Pilinis, Procurator, over the years was responsible for office network activities, product development and implementation of audit findings and organosis. Also since 2008 he is a member of the project team for the implementation of the new core banking system.
Mr. Pilinis began his career 1985 in the National Mortgage Bank of Greece in the IT Department.
In 1995, he joined Emporiki Bank – Greece and through 2002, worked in several levels of banking systems, card operations and project implementation. In July 2000 he was appointed as Chairman of the MB and Managing Director of Emporiki Bank – Georgia. From 2006 he is Procurator of Emporiki Bank – Bulgaria EAD.
Mr. Pilinis graduated in Computer Science from the City University of New York and holds Master Degree by the same university.
Ms. Boyka Vassileva, Wholesale Director and member of MB is responsible for developing and supervising the activity of Wholesales Business line, which includes Large Corporate Division, Small and Medium Enterprises Division, Business Centers, Investment Banking and Capital Markets Division.
Ms. Vassileva started her career in Bulgarian Post Bank in 1991 as ан expert International Division and gained experience in International payments, Treasury and Corporate banking. From 1994 to 1996 she was Chief Dealer and Treasurer of Chimimport Financial House. From 1997 to 2003 she worked as Senior Financial Analyst and Investment Adviser for two large Canadian Companies in Montreal and Niagara Falls, Ontario. In 2004 Ms. Vassileva joined United Bulgarian Bank, NBG Group as Department Head in Investment Banking Department and shortly has been promoted to the position of Investment Banking and Capital Markets Director. In September 2008, she became Wholesale Director and Мember of the MB of Emporiki Bank – Bulgaria EAD.
Ms. Vassileva holds Master Degree of International Finance from University for National and World Economy, Sofia. She has accomplished post graduated Chartered Accounting Program of Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. Investment Adviser designation holder from Canadian Securities Institute, Montreal, Canada.
Mr. Christos Pantazis was born in 1959 in Lamia, Greece. He graduated the Athens University and specialized in Physics, Operational Research and Computer Science.
In his professional career he held the positions in the IT unit at Geniki Bank of Greece, Technical Manager at Megasoft, IT Manager at Interamerican Group, Chief Corporate Architect at Post Bank Bulgaria, IT and Organosis Manager at Piraeus Bank Bulgaria. He moved to Emporiki Bank Bulgaria in 2008 as Chief Information Officer with responsibilities for IT, Organosis and Electronic Channels.
